XP SP2 & DVD / CD Problem

I have Compaq presario 710 US with LG DVD ROM drive
DRN8080B, it stopped working completely right after
installing Windows XP SP2, had no problems prior to this.
HP recommended to unistall SP2 as it has lot of Bugs, has
anyone run into similar problem? If yes, and have
resolved this problem, would appreciate if you could
share your solution. HP also asked to wait for SP2 bugs
are fixed by MS.

SP2 will not change.
HP will put out fixes for their stuff.

Agree with Stanley. Compaqs are fairly proprietary. SP2 running flawlessly
on all my machines.
