Problem with defrag and MMC

I have Windows XP SP2 Finnish version. Defragment does not work. I get an
error message saying: "MMC can not open file: C:\windows\system32\dfrg.msc
File does not exist, file not MMC console or file has been created by earlier
version of MMC"

The file does exist. I can run both MMC and compmgmt.msc.

Where is the problem?

Also,in mmc,did you add the defrag component listed,simply opening mmc does
no good,you must add components (a new window opens).Also,Try installing
xp cd,exit the menu page,go to run,type:cmd In cmd type:Sfc /Scannow
When its thru,type:CHKDSK C: /F Agree to restart,type:EXIT Remove xp cd,
restart pc

I tried as explained but did not solve the problem.
Still not possible to defragment.
