Problem with CD-rom, DVD, and Disc Drive

Following Problem ocured recently: Any media that I put into my drives cannot be read (computer requests to format the media). XP Updates done, Virus Check done. (of corse the used media work well on other computer)

What else can I do, does anybody know the problem

Luz,

Off the top of my head, assuming you're using Microsoft's Media Player, open
the player > click 'Tools' > 'File Types'. Make sure all the file formats
are checked (including 'DVD Video' & 'Music CD Playback'). If it's another
player being used they should all have the same 'Options' somewhere for File
Formats.
