problem with a Frontpage file causing extensions to crash

This is a message I rec'd from our Website support. What
additional information do I need to diagnose the problem?

One of your web files is causing front page extensions to
crash which is why the hit counter was working and once
the new site was uploaded ceased to function again.

Did you publish/upload using FTP??
Using FTP will break the extensions every time.
Publish using http://yourdomain.com
