Problem When Booting Up

J

Jeff Walters

When ever I boot up my PC I get a message saying that it can not run a
16 bit program and that here is not enough memory for it. I also get a
message BWPRNMON Agent "Bitware NT Agent" Class "WCNTagent"

Anyone have any idea how to identify these and resolve the problem? I
have used a progran to repair my register but to no avail.

I couldn't find a specific answer, but it looks like its
either spyware and or a virus of some sort. However,
BWPRNMON.EXE looks like its part of some fax software.
Here's what I found with Google:

You might try Ad-Aware and spybot to search for spyware
and trendmicro for a online virus scan, they are all free.

Look for Ad-Aware SE Personal:

Spybot:
http://www.safer-networking.org/en/download/index.html

Online Virus scanner:
http://housecall.trendmicro.com/housecall/start_corp.asp

It would be best to run the spyware scanners in safe mode.

I tryied this but it didn't work. Probably because it is a 16 bit
program. I had another person tell me to do the Start Run mscnfg
and uncheck the line for Bitware. I found it and did it and that seems
to have solved the problem.

thanks,
Jeff :)
