Problem using ShutDown.exe

I have a packaging being pushed by Altiris to a number of computers. For a
long time I've used SHUTDOWN.EXE with some switches at the end of pushes that
required a reboot. It's worked forever, but now it's starting to fail on a
population of systems. The errorcode returned from shutdown.exe is
"-1073741819", and on the client they see a memory exception with an OK
button.

There is no reference to LSASS anywhere, and no viruses or malware are found
on these PCs. They are all using the same copy of shutdown.exe, so there
shouldn't be a problem with the file itself. They are all mostly W2K SP4.

Thanks,
Chrsi.

Does PSshutdown.exe give similar results?
