problem upgrading from vista basic to premium

I currently have windows vista basic installed on the computer from when i
purchased it. i decided i wanted to upgrade to premium using the anytime
upgrade and have run into a problem. i purchased the download license from
best buy and it is on my desktop and i can start everything fine; but when it
gets to the completeing upgrade part it will restart show a black screen for
a second and automatically select windows rollback and then the screen comes
up and says upgrade unsuccessful. i ran the upgrade advisor and it said i
didn't have any problems and could upgrade to premium. i've done this several
times and any help would be greatly appreciated.

That is around the point where the video driver comes into play. You should
make sure that you have the latest driver for your video card for Vista.
You could set the machine to do a diagnostic startup if the new video driver
doesn't fix it.
You can post your system specs to help someone help you.
