problems upgrading from basic to premium

I have vista basic 64 en oem installed on my computer and i recently
purchased the premium upgrade 64 from windows anytime upgrade. I have tried
5 times to install and it keeps failing.

Before install I have a problem which windows states that it will not affect
install, the error is storage controllers scsi/raid host controller.

While installing it gets to the last section which is completing upgrade and
stops, stating the following

windows could not configure one or more system components, to install
windows, restart the computer and then restart install.

Can anyone shed some light onto this as I am losing patience. How do I
check that the purchased upgrade is compatible with my vista, or find out the
faults!!!!!

kindest regards

Make sure that your current hardware configuration can run Windows Premium
services. For example, make sure that your computer has atleast 1GB of ram.
If your current hardware does that fit requirements, your Vista installation
will fail. Vista x64 editions, as with Xp x64 editions require higher level
hardware in order to run succesfully.

You may want to check with the Microsoft HCL (Hardware Compatibility List)
for certified Vista hardware.

Dave,

Check out the post under 'Vista won't complete installation. Those
instructions worked for my 32-bit Vista Home Premium to Vista Ultimate
upgrade, but it may work for you.
