Problem uninstalling TweakUI. Is there a registry key to delete???

I have followed several steps to try to uninstall TweakUI from my notebook
and i always get an error saying there was a problem uninstalling. Is there
perhaps a registry key i can delete? Any help out there??

What I suggest you do is search for TweakUI.cpl

You should also search for the Tweakui.dll & tweakui.inf file. Unregister
the DLL, delete the inf & delete the cpl file.

To unregister the DLL:
-----------------------

Click START, RUN

Type: regsvr32 /u [path to tweakui.dll} & press ENTER

You should receive a message that the DLL was successfully unregistered.

One last thing you will need to check is:

Click START, RUN, type 'regedit' (without quotes) & press ENTER

When registry editor opens, navigate to the following key:

HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\Software\Microsoft\Windows\Current Version\Run

In the right-hand pane, delete the value 'TweakUI' or simular if exists.

What a timely response! I appreciate the help. I found the .cpl and .inf
files but there wasn't a tweakui.dll on my drive. I see the value for TweakUI
in the suggested registry location as well. I reinstalled the application to
see if the .dll would reappear but, no go. Any more suggestions?

Forget about the dll because as you have removed the cpl (control panel
extension) you wont see it now.

I am wondering how I can INSTALL TweakUI? I've been told it can solve one of
my problems. I went to Microsoft.com/download and could not find it. There
is another application: Tweak, I think but it does not work in Win2K. I do
have Win2K.

All you need to do is unzip it, right-click the 'inf' file & choose
'install' (top option)

The Win 2K version of TweakUI apparently does not have a DLL. I have it
installed on my system, and the componemts are:

D:\WINNT\system32\TWEAKUI.CPL
D:\WINNT\inf\TWEAKUI.INF
D:\WINNT\inf\TWEAKUI.PNF
D:\WINNT\Help\TWEAKUI.GID
D:\WINNT\Help\TWEAKUI.HLP
D:\WINNT\Help\TWEAKUI.CNT
