Problem trying to open a folder by using "open."

Right click on the folder and then left click on explore and it works
fine. The folder has several video clips that are not that large, and
the computer in a fairly new Celeron M with over 750 MB of RAM, and it
is very fast otherwise. When the folder is double clicked or left
click, then "open," it just freezes up and then there's the program
not responding message, and it closes down. Any idea what could be
causing this? It's got the Home edition of XP on it.

Thanks.

The only reason that I can think of for this is that the player that you are
using (media player perchance) thinks that it has a codec available to play
the video clip (or may be chosing the wrong codec). The codec is not
compatible and hangs up when it tries to decode it.
