Problem to preview or edit JPG files on Vista Desktop

TC

Dear Sir,

I found a very strange problem of Vista. When I try double click or right
click to select PREVIEW or EDIT a JPG files on DESKTOP, nothing happens.
However, the other files i.e. PDF or shortcut all works fine on desktop and
PREVIEW or EDIT works in other directories (or even of a directory on
desktop also fine).

Can you explain this? And any solution?

Regards,
Terence

Hi TC,

Can you preview a JPG anywhere else other than desktop? Right click
the JPG file on your desktop and under OPENS WITH, does it have Windows
Photo Gallery there? If not, then click the CHANGE button and navigate
to it's location: (C:\Program Files (x86)\Windows Photo
Gallery\WindowsPhotoGallery.exe) and click ok to apply.

If this doesn't work for you, then there is one more method. Just post
and let me know.

Hope this helps,
Shawn

I have the same exact problem as the original poster. On Vista desktop
when I click on a JPG file (or right click->edit) nothing happens. The
association is correct (photo gallery) and I can click on JPG files
anywhere else (other than desktop) and it works correctly. Only on the
desktop JPG files seem to not want to open!
I'm running Vista Ultimate 64-bit 2Gigs RAM (AMD CPU).
