Problem sending to 1 user from Outlook

Hello,
I'm looking for some troubleshooting ideas.
I have a user using Outlook 2003. In his profile, he has a pop/smtp
account pointing at the company that hosts our email. We do have an
Exchange server that has the mailboxes that the popped mail goes to.
I have at least 1 user ([email protected]) who can't send to 1 particular
user ([email protected]).

I signed onto the host company's webmail site and can send an email
from Joe to Bill with no problem.

I created an OE account for (e-mail address removed) and he can send to (e-mail address removed)
with no problem.

When signed on as Joe, using Outlook 2003, I can't send to Bill. He
never receives it. No undeliverable.

When signed on as Joe, using OWA, I can't send to Bill. He never
recieves it. No undeliverable.

Any troubleshooting ideas appreciated!

Do both Joe and Bill have mailboxes on the Exchange Server? If so, Outlook
and OWA are going to use Exchange, not the host company's POP/SMTP service,
to attempt to send the message. Both the host company's webmail and Outlook
Express have no knowledge of the Exchange Server, hence both will use the
host company POP/SMTP service. My suspicion is that something is
misconfigured on the Exchange Server.

Hal, thank you for the response. What I found is that if I changed the
default email account to be the POP server instead of Exchange, it
works. I don't know why it is exhibiting this all of a sudden. No
changes made to the server or clients recently, that I know of.
