Recently, a search engine has been placed on my desktop,
and I cannot figure out how to get it off. I can't move
it, and it won't let me right click on it. It has "Search
the Web" at the top, and below that it has "Top
Searches". When you scroll over "Top Searches", it brings
up several different choices. I clicked on several of the
choices, and they all take me to www.topsearcher.com.
After searching my computer, the only thing that I could
think of was that somehow this search engine was written
to my Registry. I went there to check it, and sure
enough, there was a listing for "topsearcher"
and "topsearches". I backed up my system, and then I
deleted those two items. I restarted my computer, and the
search engine is still showing up on my desktop. I just
don't know what else to do. Any help with this would be
much appreciated.

P.S. I'm new here, so I'm not sure if this is the right
place for this type of post. If it would be suited better
somewhere else, just let me know. Thanks...

Well, I was finally able to find where this thing was
located in my start up menu. I "unchecked" it, and it is
no longer showing on my desktop. However, I still have
not been able to find where the actual program is stored.
I'll keep looking, but right now, I'm just happy to have
it off of my screen.
