MS Search Engine

MapleE.

Hi:
Upon clicking 'Search' at the top in order to access 'Search Engine'
at the left pane of the window, there is NO 'MS Search Engine.'
Instead, 'HP Search Engine' which I never want, because on 'MS Search
Engine
there are 6 different pictured web-sites popping-up at the rght pane of the
window when
I clicked intended site. Also, there is NONE to choose, except 'HP Search
Engine.'
Prior to this, there were at least 7 search engines to choose.

How to get 'MS Search Engine' back?

Thanks for your help in advance.

Hi Gerry C.:
Thanks for the response.

It's Windows Media Center with I.E.6.

I have been losing 'MS Search' several times started from this past summer.

Luckily, each time I got a solution on this.
Since I love 'MS Search' which has a good features popping up 6 different
pictured web-sites, then I consulted the HP itself. They told me that I
needed
to 'Update,' that I hate to do mainly because for some reason, the computer
got
'unstabilized' to the point where some web-sites didn't show up.

However, after an hour's worth trials and errors, I finally rescued 'MS
Search'
from accessing 'MS Tools' at the top, ... clicking Tools < MS Tools among
other
handy tools.

What is your opinion as to 'Update?'
I still love to keep I.E.6. as long as I can.

Thanks,

My experience with IE7 has been good but my use
is computer, not media related. My 9 year old
grandson is more like to get into scrapes <g>.

A number of users have encountered problems upgrading.
You need to check out beforehand which of your toolbars
can be updated and which will not work. The phishing filter
needs to be understood as it will cause some users
problems if they try to open "risky" sites.

Most users just to go there having not read the available
literature.

No performance issues for me.

When installing I turned off anti-virus, Windows Defender
and Firewall to prevent their interference. Whole process
completed in relatively short time.
