Problem Runing Software

I am trying to run Quick Tax 2004. When I click on the Quick Tax icon I get
a small window, with the words \"Could not load a transcoding service,\" in
the blue title area, and in the main part of the window the words \"Xerces
Panic Error.\"

I had no problem running this software last year.

Can anyone help me with this problem?
