Problem receiving emails in Outlook 2000

I am having a problem with my Outlook 2000. I have been using it for years
and all of a sudden it is giving me the following message…

“One (or what ever) messages couldn’t be retrieve from server. This usually
happens when the connection to the server is lost due to server or network
problemsâ€

and

“Error number 0x80040403â€

So I started using my Outlook Express and it downloads the messages so I
know it’s not my server or other problems but Outlook 2000.

Can anyone help? I have inserted my Office 2000 and clicked the reload
office 2000. But this didn’t help.

Also, I can send messages with no problem

Thanks
Francine

Do you have any antivirus email integration enabled?
If so, disable it and then clear your server of all messages.

I do. I have Norton. I clicked "scan incoming emails" to the off tab. Then I
made sure all emails are gone from the server. It didnt help. Am I missing
something?

Thanks for the help.

Ensure that is disabled then try removing and re-adding your email account?
It might also be that a Firewall is blocking the email transport. If you are
on XP then disable any 3rd party firewall and run only the XP firewall to
see if that is the cause.
