problem printing

Running vista home premium and office 2007.
When I open a "Microsoft Word" document
and select file>print,
a window opens with the title bar "Print".
When I open a publisher document and select file>print,
I also get a window with title bar "Print".
In both cases, my preferred printer is a
"Xerox Document Centre 470 PS"
BUT
Those two "Print" windows are not the same.

When I print from either "Microsoft Word" or
from Microsoft Publisher", I prefer to print
from tray 6. Microsoft Publisher will print
from tray 6. Microsoft Word will not print
from tray 6.

In view of the fact that the two "Print" windows
look different, and behave different, I would
guess that the Print window from Word is not
as recent as the Print window from Publisher.
Is that possible?

Q: How can I tell Word to print using tray 6?

Sounds like a puzzle for the gurus in

microsoft.public.office.misc

or
