My Canon S820 has recently developed a problem. It will print my photos very nicely on plain paper, but when I ask it to print on photo paper the results are awful, regardless of the various adjustments I have made. I've cleaned my heads, installed a driver update, all to no avail. Is this a printer problem or maybe something else? Thanks.

First signs of the printer head dying I'm afraid. When you're printing on
plain paper, you're not using the PM and PC (photo magenta and photo cyan).
Print head failure in Canon printer is often accelerated by not using
genuine Canon ink cartridges. New print heads for the BJC-8200, S800, S820
series are about $99 (in the US). You might want to think about a new i850
or i960.
