I posted yesterday but did not have the info I have
today. Does this error message make sense to anyone?

Problem is preventing windows from accurately checking
the license for this computer. Error Code 0x80004005

Any input would be greatly appreciated

Ah, yes. The Product Activation "feature" of Windows XP we have all come to
know and love. Keep an open mind until you have enough information to make
your own decision about it.
