License error message

When I attempt to log on I get a Windows Product
Activation error message: A problem is preventing Windows
from accurately checking the license for this computer
Error Code 0x80004005. Then the machine logs me off
automatically. Is there a way to reenter the product key
or correct the license information. I tried the knowledge
base but there is nothing listed for this error message.
Must I reload Windows XP and its many, many updates?

Hi Linda,

Restart the system in Safe mode and try logging on there as administrator.
To access Safe mode, simply tap F8 at system startup.

Once there, start/run regsvr32 regwizc.dll
Then start/run regsvr32 licdll.dll

Then logoff and restart the system normally, see if that helps.
