Problem opening new windows

When I click a link to a new window or select a site from my bookmarks
instead of getting a full size window I get a very small portion of it with
the original window as a background. The restore button on the small
portion is not always availiable because of its position on my sreen and the
miniturisation, when it is availiable it dosen't always work anyway.

The new window appears on my task barand sometimes a click on the restore
there will resolve the problem but not until I tried it more than once.

I don't understand... how I resize a tiny portion of a window. To click on
the maximise button just sends it to the task bar. and to click on the
restore there just moves the small portion of the widow to another part of my
sreen

Resize the window, close it, and then reopen.

Hi Mumbles,
To resize your window do the following;
Put your Pointer over the Edge of the new window you want to Resize (when
you see the Pointer Changed to Double Arrow <---->) and Hold down your Left
button on your mouse and Drag away.
Do that in all Directions ( Up, Down, Left, Right) and when your window is
in full view Click Refresh on the Toolbar or Hit F5 to refersh and close your
window, next time you open a link in a new window IE will remember the Last
Settings and will open the new window Maximised.
HTH.
Please let us know.

nass

It will not open the windows maximized ... it will open the window based on
the last setting. If the window is resized, not maximized, the window will
open in the last size positions.

HI NewScience and nass,

Well that just confirms what a dummy I am !!!

NewScience... I'm sorry I misunderstood your instructions. The problem was
....you didn't appreciate how true the above is !! No mate I really didn't
know the difference between resize and maximise, and had no idea that one
could drag the edges of a window to wherever you wanted. Thank you so much
your a hero !!

nass...Thank you for appreciating what a dummy you were dealing with, but of
course you had the benifit of my answer to NewScience. Oh My I bet you had a
giggle. Thanks for the info. re. hitting F5, again I had no idea what that
would do and I've often wonderd what all those F keys are for !!
You too are a hero in my book !!

Well fellas my problem is solved thanks to you too and I am very very
gratefull.

How lucky we dummies are to have such clever guys out there happy to give
their time pulling us out of the morass that a pc can, and does drag us into.

My Best Regards to both of you Mumbles

You are welcome and don't be harsh on yourself, which you know in your
field, may be if I will live all my life I will n't know!.
To know about the Function KEYS and Key Combinations, use Help and Support
on your computer by going to Start >> Help and Support and there you can
search for whatever you want to know or hang around here on the Newsgroup and
learn from other users posts/Qs.

As it happens nass I'm a retierd Lincened Cab Driver/Owner so my excuse for
being a dummy on here is "My brain is still full of the knowledge" If you are
unfamilier with that term it is knowing just about where every thing is in
London, and the shortest route between any two of them.

I digress.....The instruction you both gave me are working a treat but I
find I have to carry them out every time I visit a site I have had problems
with. I pressume that they will all need the "treatment".

Hmm thats a good idea mate I'll be hanging around on here picking experts
brains !!

Regards mumbles

Hi,
No, the Procedure which I gave to you should work with all if you implement
it right.
Do it again but this time close the old Window which you opened the new link
(new window) from it and Resize the new window by Drag it in all Directions.
Close and reboot, you should have your website in full screen without
clicking on Maximise button.
HTH.

nass
P.S what your screen resolution by the way set to!.

Hi nass,
Thanks a million mate, I think your last instruction solved the sizing
problem. I say I think 'cos Ive only tried it on the link on the e-mail that
gets me into this Discusion Group. That always needed "the treatment" but
its ok now.

I don't know how to find out what my screen resolution is set to Mate !!!

Since downloading the new BT Yahoo browser I'm having problems getting a
conection using my " Desk Top BT Yahoo" icon, though I can get one using the
BT Yahoo help icon, and a health check there reports No Problems Found !!.
All e-mails to them remain unanswerd. and the on-line help desk can't solve
the problem. My son, who also runs BT Yahoo says he is also this problems and
belives BT are having problems. Have you heard anything ?
