Hi,

I am new to XP. Whenever I click on a folder it opens Maximized. I don't
like that! I'd rather the folder open in a minimized position and stay
that way. I have tried everything that I know of to do this. Folder
Options, click on the upper left portion of the window, Click on restore,
size the folder to the way I'd like it to be, and hold the control key
while closing the folder. When I restart the folders are back to opening
in a maximized position. I am wondering is there something that I can do
in the Windows Registry to make them stay minimized once and for all?

I hope that someone can help my on this iratating problem..

Thanks for any and all help.

Right click the shortcut that you use to open the folder,
Click Properties,
Select "Minimized" from the drop-down list,
Click OK

Thank you for the reply. However I have tried all of that. Turn the
computer off. Turn it back on in the evening, and it's right back to the
way that it was . Open a folder short cut or not. It opens MAXIMIZED.
I think it has to do with the registry.

Can anyone else help me here?
