Hi All,

I currently have an issue where if my users try to log off they get an "end
task" window appearing with a procvess called IconWindow (no spaces) running?

Does anyone have any ideas on what this is and why it's hanging the logoff
process?

Any help is much appreciated.

Have you figured this out?
I see no replies - just a bunch of people viewing it.

I'm having the same problem with a Dell Optiplex GX620.

Right before this, I get a message saying Smax4Pnp (a sound max thing)-
do I want to end task.

Hi All,

We found this to be part of the standard windows architecture. The problem
was caused by the installation of Symantec Ghost client which hogged the
iconwindow prosess.

This process is reposible for how windows interacts with a large number of
applications that need to place an alert on screen (pretty much everything)

There is a patch for ghost available (not advertsied and we had to really
scream for Symantec to release this)

Uninstalling the Ghost client also works ;-)

Regards
