XP instantly logs off when logging on

Each time I try an log on I am instantly logged off. I press F-8 and have
tried every safe mode log in and the same thing happens. If I could reinstall
XP I would but cannot figure out how to do this. Any suggestions? The best I
can figure is I either got a virus (Norton protected) or the last Windows
update messed me up. Thanks

You boot from the XP CD by changing the boot order in the BIOS and then do a
repair install.
