Problem inserting picture from file in a message.

I have always been able to Insert Picture From File while creating an Outlook
message -- something I do frequently in my job. Recently my IT Department
had to re-install Office Suite on my computer and since that time I can no
longer see any picture (image) file I insert, including .gif, .bmp. jpg or
..tiff files. I get a thin black border line showing the picture size, but
nothing appears within that border.

Is there a setting somewhere that will fix this?

Thanks!

What message format are you using? HTML and Rich Text should let you see the
image. Plain Text will not.

Yes, I always use HTML format. However, since I posted the question here I
found out what the problem was. Somehow the "Tools", "Options", "View",
"Picture Placeholders" box had been checked. That allowed a border the same
size as the picture I had inserted, but did not allow viewing of the picture
itself.

Thanks for your reply!

Hi Sandie

I have the same problem as you did; i.e, I can't see the pictures that I
insert in the outgoing message. However I tried to do what you said about
unchecking the "Picture Placeholders" option, but I could not find it
anywhere in Tools->Options dialog.

Would you be able to provide me with the exact location for this please. I
am using Outlook 2003.

Thanks

Hi Sandie

I am having the same problem that you were experiencing and I tried to do
what you suggested; i.e, changing the "Picture Placeholders" check box.
However I cannot find it anywhere in the tools->Options dialog. Would you be
able to provide me with the exact location for it.

Thanks
