Problem: "Info 9900" error on .Net 2 install

The title says it all. I'm getting an error message which says "Info 9900.
Could not install".

That's it! Nothing else. I get the usual first two dialogs and then this
message in a dialog and .Net 2.0 installer just quits. :) (The first two
dialogs are the "Preparing to install" and "Please wait while..." messages.)

Any ideas?
