Problem going on line after Hybernation

When I turn on my compute I have no problem going on line. After I leave my
computer on for a while and it goes into hybernation ( I am assuming because
when I get back it is asleep) I am not able to go on line. I click on
internet explorer or try to open it and it will not open. I have to restart
computer for it to allow me to go on line again.

Hope someone can help.

"Get back online" as in wired network, wireless network, dialup modem in
the computer, ADSL modem on the computer, cable mode on the computer, ADSL
or cable modem via through a router and switch? If you would give a bit
of information it would be useful.

Determine whether it is Hibernation or Standby. If Standby it is likely
the network connection has been powered down by the PC to save power,
you can prevent that by changing the Power Management setting for it in
the Device Manager. If it truly is Hybernation, then how you connect to
the internet need to be evaluated. If you are connecting directly, you
are may be losing your IP address and the computer now has an incorrect
one stored, so you have to reaquire a working IP address.

Do you use the 2Wire 3800HGV-B modem to connect? Are you using Cat-5 or USB
or wireless between the modem and the computer? If you do have the 2Wire
3800HGV-B then it has some diagnostics in its menu structure that may be of
help.

If you are connecting by the USB method then it could be a problem of the
USB port being powered down when the computer goes to sleep and that could
be taken as a prompt to the modem to disconnect itself. If this is the
problem then most USB drivers have an option to prevent the power-down on a
port by port basis. Don't know anything else to say/ask and I've never seen
one of these U-Verse thingies to make a better guess.
