Problem E-Mail in Outbox...Driving Me Nuts

Hi All:

I have Windows XP Pro with all updates (not SP2), running Office 2003. I
just wrote a rather lengthy e-mail to a family member using Outlook 2003,
attaching a small .wav file. The account it is sending it through is my
Hotmail HTTP account. (I also have other POP and HTTP mail accounts
configured within Outlook 2003. I've been using Outlook 2003 for several
months now and never had much problem with it.

When I pushed "Send" on this e-mail, Outlook started its send/receive cycle.
However, it gets hung up on sending this e-mail and it stays in the Outbox.
In addition, I can't open it or move it from the Outbox - the Outbox message
when I try ot open it is "Can't Open This Item. Outlook has already begun
transmitting this mesage." I googled for some info and found out about the
Inbox Repair Tool. I searched for scanpst.exe on my computer and ran it
against the PST file. It said it found errors and it repaired them. However,
I still have the same problem when I run Outlook. It still gets hung up on
the send/receive process with this message, I can't open it, move it, or
delete it. When I ran scanpst.exe again, it says the PST files has no
errors.

Any suggestions? I'm at wits end on this one. Thanks.

Have you tried to read it, then mark it as unread, then click out of the
outbox before it's marked as read, then click on send/receive? That has
worked for me with problematic emails before.

Thanks for everyone's help. I found the problem and it was silly. I had a
7MB attachment to the e-mail; I thought it was less than 1 MB.
