Problem during startup

I am using winxp and have all the latest updates including service pack 2 and
during the startup it goes through the boot sequence and during the part
where it says verifying DMI it goes to boot from cd and if I don't have the
cd in the tray it won't load windows. I checked my bios and the first boot
device is the floppy. So I don't understand why it keeps telling me to put
the OS disk in the tray and keeps trying to boot from cd. Then I put the cd
in the tray and then hit the reset button and it botts up just fine. Has
anyone else had this problem? If so please tell me what can be done to
correct it.

You may have update your bios , it usally invoked during boot up by pressing
one of your (f1- f10) key at bootup. You got to change the boot drive from
your cd drive to your hard drive. Unfortunately if your computer is like mine
it does'nt document what f key to use to update bios. You'll have to try one
at a time until you find the right one. The f key you use before windows
boots up. The black screen early in bootup.

I updated my bios with the latest greatest updates possible. It is still
doing the same thing. I'll try that other suggestion you made and see what
happens.
