Problem downloading mail

I started having a problem a few weeks ago with e-mail downloads. It tries
to download the messages, taking a minute or two and then stops, but it is
not getting the messages off the server. It seems to work OK (slower than
normal, but still gets them) when Outlook is first opened and messages are
checked intiially, then becomes a problem after the program is open for
awhile. In order to get them again, I have to log out of Windows and log in
again.

I have tried uninstalling anything that may have been loaded recently, tried
disabling my firewall and anti-virus temporarily, cleaned and defragged the
disk, checked office updates, and reinstalled office. I don't know what else
to do.

I am using a Dell Dimension 8200 with Office Pro 2000 and XP Home.

Let me know if you need more information.

Please help.

Thanks,
Mike

Try uninstalling your anti-virus program, then reinstalling it without the
mail-scanning options.

Thanks Jeff. I make so many changes after Christmas, adding games, other
apps, and doing various updates, I forgot all about upgrading to NIS 2005 or
I guess I thought that would be the easiest of the changes and cause the
least problem.

Anyway, uninstalling and reinstalling NIS seems to have taken care of the
problem. And now, my whole computer is a much more lean machine after
cleaning out all of the garbage that had accumulated over the past 2 years.

Thanks again,
Mike

Glad to hear it!
