problem downloading Hotmail into Outlook 07 with Connector

B

Beemac

Using Vista Home Premium & unable to download / send emails from Hotmail via
Outlook 2007. Was working OK prior to going on Vacation & on return a number
of Windows updates were installed - since which have not been able to
download emails into Outlook. Have attempted removal & re installation of the
Hotmail account - even system restore, but nothing seems to resolve the
problem.
Would appreciate any assistance provided.

Are you using HTTP or the Outlook connector? If the connector, there seems
to be a problem with some of the servers, waiting 24 -48 hours before doing
anything drastic is prudent as it may fix itself. Also go to folder list
(Ctrl+6) and check the sync errors folder.

I am having the exact same problems but I have waited over 1 week and still
no fix. I've contacted Outlook Connector support and after 2 hours, they
determined it was a hotmail problem. I contacted hotmail support and they
insist it is an Outlook connector problem. The connector support person game
me his hotmail address and it did work after hitting the send and receive
button after 5x's but I'm having not success w/ my current hotmail account (
I even tried to set up a new account with no success). If you have any
suggestions please let me know.

FWIW, they will always blame the other one. Both the RTM and beta connector

I'll add my name to the list of those having this problem. Outlook has not
connected to my Hotmail account correctly for at least 5-6 days. I looked in
the Sync folder and found the following message:

The following issues occured while synchronizing with the server:

Error Synchronizing Message
Error with Send/Receive.

Folder Collection Sync Key: 0{1b14c880-91ec-488e-a6f5-141c0e7c1dcc}1876

Message Collection Sync Key: 0{63b85c44-d72c-4a3f-925c-9de89f461938}1875

Any suggestions would be appreciated since when I was given a link to Office
support from the Hotmail guys, it asked for my Product ID and does not
recognize the one I see in the Help About window of my Connector.

Thanks...Rogers

I'll throw my hat in the ring as well.

I can send email from Outlook, but receive nothing. I removed and re-added
my account to no avail.

Oddly enough, another Hotmail account under another user profile on the same
machine works fine in Outlook.

There is nothing in my Sync Issues folder.

Hi Diane, I have nothing in my sync folder. I've just uninstalled and
reinstalled outlook connector, removed my hotmail profile and data file and
reinstalled it. Under the Account settings for Outlook/Data files, my
hotmail acct says "not avail." Also noticed the the product ID for Outlook
connector is not the the standard microsoft format...not sure if that is
making a difference. I've also stopped my anti-virus program (Avast) and
installed all available updates that microsoft has recommended. Is anybody
else using the Verizon USB720...Avast antivirus, HP laptop, wears their pants
backwards, just trying to figure out if we all have anything in common. I'm
able to send out of the hotmail/outlook account using my hotmail as my
primary account.

It's surprising to me that we'd need to install a beta of the next version in
order to restore functionality that we just had working a week ago using the
previous version. Nonetheless, I'm willing to try it if that's our only

I'm PO'd that the beta seems to be a requirement now - but is it working for

I sent a message to the person who used to 'own' the connector and am
awaiting a reply. I'm not even sure they are involved in it anymore but
expect the message will be forwarded to the right person.

Errm......nothing appeared when used Ctrl+6!! What is supposed to happen
when using this key combination?

on keying "send & receive" button, Outlook starts action to download.
Sometimes "completes" the activity, but nothing arrives from Hotmail. Other
times, action stops (abruptly) & warning message of "Network Interruption" is
shown. (Am using broadband connection - no known issues with connectivity).
