Problem detecting CD or DVD Burner

Hi, I recently installed WMP version 10. It fails to detect the CD or DVD
Burner when I wish to burn a CD or DVD.
I have tried going to properties and checking the box that says enable
recording, but this has failed to work.
Please Help...!!!

I tried following the advice/link and it was not helpful. My CD burner comes
up just fine with the "record" tab and all, the computer says it's working
well. It burned CDs last week, and this week it says that it doesn't detect a
device. It will play recorded music (mp3 and CD), but won't burn. I'm very
frustrated.
