Problem creating VPN connection

I'm having a problem creating a VPN connection. If I go under Network
Tasks, then select Create a new connection, click Next, select Connect to
the network at my workplace (using dial-up or VPN) and click Next. The next
screen where you would select Dial-up connection or Virtual Private Network
Connection shows those two options but they are greyed out so you can't
select them. What gives?

I have another machine on my home network attached to the same DSL line and
I don't have a problem making a VPN connection on that machine. I've
checked the protocols on both and don't see anything missing.
