problem copying administrator profile

I have 2 Win98 machines and 2 Win2000 pro machines. I recently moved my
printer to share from one of the 2000pro machines. I originally had a problem
getting all the units to print but this site helped me through the common
user/password change and most everything is working perfectly....except my
laptop with the other Win 2000pro. I can print with the new username-password
combo but have lost most of my important programs because I used nothing but
the admin account before this change.
Now I've followed the instructions by going to the >system->user profile,
selecting the admin acct and clicking the copy to c:\documents and
settings\offfice (my new acct name), setting permission to everyone and
clicking ok but here is where my problem begins. The next prompt states that
the acct already exists and do I want to copy over it. I answer yes and I get
an hour glass for about a minute and nothing happens. The screen stays the
same and when I hit ok again the same message comes up and nothing is copied
because when I log on as office most of the icons still aren't there. Any
assistance in this matter would be greatly appreciated.

Have you tried renaming your existing profile folder to something
else before performing the copy action?
