problem connecting

My anti virus program stopped working (don't know why) and before I reloaded
it, I ended up with 18 Trojans. All cleaned out now, but IE6 will not
connect to the net unless I restart the computer. Also, Hijack This will not
start at all, even after I redownloaded it. Is it possible that either IE6
is corrupted, or I haven't gotten rid of all the Trojans and malware on my
computer? Any help would be appreciated. Thanks!
