Problem changing Administrator password.

I have two w2k DC servers A and B with SP4 and all windows
updates. Recently found out that a few too many people
knew the Administrator password.

Problem is when I changed the password. Changed it on
server A with no problems, and I was able to lock and
unlock the server B with the new password. But later on
that day went to unlock server B but was unable to,
telling me incorrect password. Tried rebooting with no
effect. I was not able to log in with any other password
either, then the problem started on server A.

With luck it would let me log in with another account,
which had admin rights (tried other account that had admin
rights with no luck). Put the password back to the
original one and everything is working fine again.

Have now found out though that I can not log in to server
B using other accounts (with admin privs) but any new
account created or changed on server A are showing in the
AD user list on server B.

Sorry if this sounds confusing but having troubles
understanding it myself. If anyone can point me in the
right direction I would be most happy. Just say if you
need me to elaborate on anything.
All changes I have made have been thorugh AD users and
computers and have tried re-applying server packs.

TIA

You might check your services and make sure they are not trying to start
with the domain\administrator user name.

If so you will need to change the password on the services also. It could
be that they are still running and not letting the password change. After
you have changed the Password in ADUC you need to go into AD sites and
Services and force replcation between all servers. Click on all connections
and choose replicate now. if that works then try your new password on
server B
