Problem Burning CDs

With Windows 98, there were no problems when burning MP3 CDs at 24x or
higher from files on the hard drive. Since upgrading to W2K, there are skips
in the recordings, even at recording speeds of 12x. This appears to be due
to buffer underruns. Have used both Roxio and NTI software and a couple of
different burners with the same result. Machine has 1 Mh AMD Athlon with 256
k SDRAM. HD and Burner are on separate IDE Channels. Any suggestions on how
to correct this will be appreciated.

Use the newest Nero CD Burning ROM, or there are plenty others shareware and
some freeware..

Personally, I like the way W98 works with burners. I have a separate box on
the network just for rippin' on a legal site.
Or you can make it a dual boot.
