I successfully installed Vista Bld 5308.
After I first log into windows, I get an error window saying "host process for windows services stopped working and was closed" then a blue screen.
I can boot into safe mode and it doesn't crash.. Has anyone had this issue? Any fix?
Thanks

That's the svchost.exe. I get that as well - make sure that your firewall is
on, because even though it should be fixed in Vista, by not having the
firewall on in XP caused the Blaster worm to wiggle in and cause the Generic
Host Process for Win32 (svchost.exe) to crash and cause a restart.

Thanks for the help..
But hey can I turn on the firewall when it crashes right after I login?

I'll keep it short, Windows Defender is the problem on my machine it come
inbuilt in Vista and I don;t know how to disable or delete it so i have these
blue screen pop ups and the comp restarts every few minutes or hours. i had
to roll back to xp and then i installed defender again and again the blue
screen popped up, no i have uninstalled defender and so far it looks good. so
my guess is defender is the problem. if anybody knows how to uninstall it or
disable it permanently that would be helpful. HOPEFULLY THIS WOULD BE OF SOME
ASSISTANCE
