Problem after repairing XP

Hi all,

I have 'repaired' Windows XP Pro on two seperate machines and have
experienced the same problem. The 'repair' went OK, but both machines are
experiencing a similar type of issue. If the machines are left on for a
while, then when shutting them down, it takes about two minutes from
selecting Start - Shutdown for the next screen to appear. Then when choosing
shutdown or restart it takes a further two minutes to actually switch off, a
total of about 4-5 minutes to switch off. However, if the machine is
shutdown after a short period (up to an hour) then the machine shuts down
normally and very quickly. Everything else seems to be working normally.

I have searched the 'net and Microsoft and no luck. I've looked at slow
shutdown issues and nothing has effected worked.

Both machines are on a wired LAN, running AMD processors, XP Pro and one
with seperate video card, the other running on-board graphics. Anyone had
this before and managed to resolve it.

Thanks,

Does each machine have mapped drives to the other?
