Please can someone help with this problem.

I have two computers running Windows XP Professional and for backup reasons
I need to access computer two - program files.

Itr keeps coming up I do not have access to program files etc, Drive C is
shared and mostly everything else is available. (apart from Documents and
settings folder)
I have even formatted this computer and reinstalled everything and it is
still the same.

Could the fault be on computer one? (the one that access's computer two via
the network)

Thanks for any help.

Your description is leaving me in the dark.
I understand you have two Windows XP Professional computers. I go that far.
But beyond that - I am having trouble.

When are you getting the message about "Access Denied"?
Are you able to map the shares manually?
Are you trying to run some program that is installed on one computer and not
the other?

No not trying to run any program on the networked computer, just trying to
copy information.

I can see the networked computer under my network places etc, and have the
drive C: shared and can access it with no problem. I can not access its
"program files" folder, or documents and settings folder. Even it I select
that actual folder and share it, it still will not give me access.

I hope this is clearer! Thanks for your reply.

On both XP Pro machines, disable Simple Sharing from Folder
Options>View. Make identical user accounts and passwords on both
machines. If using the SP2 Windows Firewall, put a check in File &
Printer Sharing on the Exceptions tab. If using a third-party firewall,
configure it to allow lan traffic as trusted.

Additionally, Administrative Shares are enabled by default. On machine A, enter \\<machinebname>\c$\program files in the Windows Explorer Address bar. As long as your username and password exist on both machines, as an Administrator, you'll be able to access the files.
