Pro to Home

I have pro installed and want to switch to home. I have recently moved and
can not locate my pro OEM disk. Trying to install home from my home only disk
I keep getting the can not; where is pro error. Do I have to repartition
the hard drive to install home from a home only disk?

There is no downgrade path available.. you will have to 'clean' install
having first backed up (saved) important files.. address book, mail folders,
anything you have generated or downloaded along the way..

The only way to change from WinXP Pro to WinXP Home is to
format the drive and start over. There is no supported downgrade path
or technique.

Simply boot from the WinXP installation CD. You'll be offered the
opportunity to delete, create, and format partitions as part of the
installation process. (You may need to re-arrange the order of boot
devices in the PC's BIOS to boot from the CD.)

Thanks for the help. The small parts of the system are disapearing, printer,
excel, etc. I have run all the checks for virus/etc. nothing. thought it
might be the one with the web link, but can't locate the tell-tale files, so
will repartition and have a new go at it. Again thanks.....
