private folders

i try to make my folders private but are not able to tick the box in the
sharing and security option
anybody can help?

Windows XP pro? Have you checked "Simple file sharing" in Tools\Folder
Options\View? check should be on for simple file sharing and to make the
profile folder private.

I have the same problem in making my folder private. I try your method by
going
to Tools\folder options\view. But there is no option for simple file
sharing. How do

Windows XP Home or Pro?
You also need NTFS file system and not FAT 32.
That option is not available in Home since Simple File Sharing is hard
wired.
For Home, you need to be in Safe Mode.
