When I print in Internet Explorer, version 7, I do not get what is on the
screen. Rather, I seem to get a lot of code text. Please advise

What steps are you doing? Print screen?

No, I am using the regular File/Print procedure. But what comes out is a page or more of what looks like some sort of code. For example, the last thing I tried to print started out as follows: "<!DOCTYPE HTML PUBLIC..." and several lines were, "<SCRIPT language =JavaScript>".

I Hope this helps. Your thoughts?

I use IE7. I don't know what you mean when you say 'I don't get what is on
the screen. What are you trying to print?

I could be in anything. Let's say I do a MapQuest and come up with a list of
directions and a map to get from my house to the nearest Office Depot. I see
the map and the directions on screen, but when I print, the print out is just
lines and lines of code text similar to the ones in my last response. I do
not have any problem printing from MSWord, NotePad, Excel, etc. I know this
sounds wrong-headed, but when I use Mozilla or Netscape as a browser,
everything works fine.

I use IE7 and have no problem. Have you checked to see if there is a print
driver update?

hi,

go to command prompt. re-register the following files:

type the following commands:

1. regsvr jscript.dll

2. regsvr vbscript.dll

then restart the computer and check.

hi gave u the wrong commands,

the following are the correct ones:

go to command prompt. re-register the following files:

type the following commands:

1. regsvr32 jscript.dll

2. regsvr32 vbscript.dll

it will work!!

I wish I could say this worked. I entered the two commands (I assume this
was supposed to be through the Start/Run portal). Both times, the message
was that the .dll was registered. However, now when I go to File/Print, the
pages come out blank.

This is getting more bizarre by the minute. I tried both of your
suggestions. Regarding the first, which suggests re-setting the margins--my
margins are already set at the suggested numbers, .75 each. Regarding the
second, when I try to run the program, I get the error message, "Internet
Explorer 7 is not supported on this machine." This I do not understand, as
when I click on Help/About it tells me Internet Explorer Version 7.0.5730.11
is installed, and until a few days ago everything was working fine and what
was on the screen would print without any problems. I remain baffled. In
the meantime, I may just skip using IE7 altogether as my browser and use
Mozilla Firefox instead. Everything seems to work fine when I do that.
However, in that I need to figure out how to migrate all my favorites to
Mozilla. Thanks for your consideration. If you have more suggestions, I
will keep typing. When things were working correctly, at the bottom of a
printed page the http address from which it came printed at the bottom. I
don't know whether this helps, but on the last page I tried to print from
IE7, the following printed:
file://C:\Docume~1\Owner\LOCALS~1\Temp\WAQP555U.htm.

i am having the exact same problem and it happened after a microsoft update.
have you found a fix yet?

Sorry I can't help with the IE problem. However, getting your favorites
into Firefox is easy: just choose File | Import.

Hi there...
sorry these tips which were hard to locate didn't help. At this point,
and this is what I would do, is to uninstall IE7. clean up, and
reinstall a fresh copy. May be worth a try as you know, often, rather
than searching and searching for answers, it could all boil down to
something as minor as a bad file associated with the browser (or any
program for that matter).
I wouldn't give up just yet. Wouldn't hurt to try.
Let me know.
Take Care and good luck!

Hi there...
As per previous post by me, this is the only info I found as of yet.
Out of curiosity to both and whether this has anything to do with this
problem or not, in IE, click tools, internet options, and the advanced
tab. Scroll down under printing and tick for 'print background colors
and images'. Sounds unrelated, but through the many years, sometimes
what seems like a big problem is often as simple as this.
I will continue to search for you both to try to pinpoint the problem.
Take Care...
Dee
