printing to pdf from word causes words to jump

I am using Microsoft Word 2003. I am typing something out over two pages for
example, and I will go to print the document to PDF. After it has printed the
word document will jump, so the first paragragh of the second page will jump
up to the first page. My spacing stays the same at "at least 16" but for some
reason its like the word document will condense making it so more words can
fit on the page so the first few lines of the paragraph on the second page
will be able to fit on the first. Does any one know how to fix this?

Try setting your pdf printer as your default printer.

Word bases the layout of a document on the default printer. So if you would
attach a different printer to your system, your document might be formatted
differently. If you set your pdf printer as your systems default printer,
the layout should remain once you print to a pdf file.

I have had the opposite happen where text would jump from the first page to
the next. When I changed the PDF resolution from 1200 dpi to 600 dpi in the
advanced settings that seemed to fix it.
