When I convert a document to pdf, the page number in the footer changes from
"Page X of Y" to "Page X1 of X1", "Page X2 of X2", "Page X3 of X3", etc.
This happens on all word documents, created in new Office 2007 and previous
versions. The page numbers are inserted as fields, set to automatically
update when the document prints.
