I am running Vista Home Premium Ed. I'm using a Epson 1000ICS
Printer/Scanner. I can print anything from the internet, but since ( I'm
suspecting) an update, I can no longer print anything from Windows Vista
itself, such as Word, Excel and even Paint. When I bring up the print queue
it says document is printing but nothing happens. I can still print anything
from online. I suspect the updates may have done it because, before I had no
problem printing anything, from any program before. Any help out there?
Thanks

I am having the same issue in trying to print from WORD. I can print email &
internet pages but not from word. Anyone have a suggestion?

Thanks

We just got a new vista laptop (HP Pavilion dv6000 series) for Christmas. We
have our printer connected to a wireless network via a Gateway desktop
running Vista. When printing directly from AOL on the laptop, everything is
fine. It prints immediately. When printing from Microsft products, in our
case Works or Word, it clocks, fades in & out, displays not responding
messages and actually 'comes back' and eventually prints. I guess I should
feel lucky it's printing but this is totally unacceptable. I thought it was
an HP problem but I think now after reading many posts, that it is a
Microsoft /Vista problem.

I went to the site & wouldn't you know it, the list of hp psc all in ones
skipped my printer. It went from 1600 to 2300 series. This Vista is costing
me a lot of money if I have to buy all new equipment. I tried to download a
driver for my laptop & got a message that I didn't need to download it
because it was already on my laptop. I just need to install the drivers to
get it to work but I don't want to 'hook up the printer' as it's hooked up to
my desktop which is the server for our router here at home.

I'm at a loss for what to try next. This is a step backwards technically in
my opinion. I'm hoping that Vista/Microsoft will get things figured out
pretty soon.
