Printing problems with XP Home and Canon LBP-430W

I recently purchased a new computer that had Windows XP Home installed
on it. I also have a Canon LBP-430W laser printer. Canon's web site
indicated that I should use the built-in drivers for the printer, and
so did Microsift's web page. However, ever since setting up this
computer and printer, I have had problems printing.

Usually, I can print 1 page with no problem, but if I send something
that has more than 1 page, after the first page I either get an error
that it can't print, or the printer "data present" light just blinks,
but no page comes out, or I get a page of really big font size, or
just a page of garbage.

Can anyone make a suggestion for me?

I have tried setting the BIOS printer port settings through the
various types AT, ECP, EPP in hopes that going to an older type would
help, but has not. I am going to try installing the HP LaserJet
Series II driver and see if that works (it was a suggestion from
another post).

Any suggestions are welcome.
