printing problem

I have an Epson Stylus Colour 460 running on XP and I
found that the black lines on the testpage were broken
and ran the head cleaner quite a few times but it still
remains the same, can anybody help?.Printing a page starts
fine but fades as it gets to the end of the page or does
not print anything on the page.

How full or empty are the ink cartridges? Are they refilled or genuine
Epson cartridges?

I wanted to say I'm having the same trouble, with stylus
C40UX. The black part printed with lines, then faded, now
won't print at all, but the color will print just fine.
Can anyone help? (sorry I couldn't answer your question)

Should I be using genuine Epson cartridges? Why won't the
other ones work?

Aside from having the software "clean" the head - you might want to pull out
the cartridge manually and wipe the head with an alcohol wipe. And if the
wipe keeps getting black(er) as you wipe, it may be another indicator you
have enough ink - but if, as you wipe, no more black ink is dispensed on the
wipe - you may be out of ink or have a bad cartridge.
