Printing problem

I have an XP computer with a networked HP LJ 5N. When I start up the
computer I can print twice out of any application. If I try to print a
third time the print job gets stuck in que and can't be deleted without
restarting the computer. There are several other XP computers that
print to this printer without problem. Anyone have any ideas what
might be causing this? Thanks in advance.

I would suspect the installed driver is responding to incomplete plugNplay detection.

Press winkey-break(or start/run 'sysdm.cpl') ,/Hardware tab Open the Device manager and click the + sign next to Ports(COM & LPT).
select the printer port, e.g. ECP Printer Port (LPT1). Port Settings tab check the 'Enable legacy Plug and Play detection'
