Printing e-mail showing list of attachments sent

Thanks for the info, Marg, but when I tried to download the SP1, it said I
already had it. I am using plain text and that seems to work. Appreciate
your time.

I have 2003 and have SP1 loaded but the attachments are still not listed upon

I also have Outlook 2003 (Office XP) and have SP1; SP2 and SP3 loaded but
can't see the attachments listed when I print the email either. I can see it
if I do the changes as suggested to "Plain Text" but it only prints out the
little picture with the name instead of just printing the name on the
attachment line in the email.

Any other suggestions?

I also have Outlook 2003 SP1 and when printing emails, I have a column that
says "Attachments:" and then they are listed, but the attachment image
placeholder is not printed. KB821840 addresses this issue, but for the
placeholders to show, I still must change the format of the message to either
plain text or rich text and then it will list the attachment and print the
placeholder.

Actually, I just read the issue that was fixed in SP1 for Office 2003 and it
says:

Nothing indicates that an attachment is included in a printed HTML e-mail
message

When you print an HTML e-mail message that has an attachment, there is no
field or icon for attachments. This hotfix adds an Attachments box to the
HTML e-mail message. This box displays the file name of the attachments.

Change the format of the message to plain text before printing the
message.

The easiest way to do this is to click forward and then print the email. (You
don't have to forward to yourself) Just click forward and print. When you
click forward it will forward in plain text. This will allow you to print
the email and show the attachments list. No need to make any changes in
word/Outlook settings. Once you print the email, close the email and choose
no to save.

I have tried everyone's suggestions and have not succeeded. When I print the
e-mail, I get a PDF or Word Doc icon. I only want a list of the documents
attached (Title Only), not the icon with the title of the document. Is this
possible or will I have to settle for the icon? Thanks for your help!

Thank you Francisco. I sent myself a test e-mail with an attachment. I then
went into my SENT ITEMS folder, clicked on this e-mail and clicked forward.
It did not forward in plain text (it stayed in HTML) so I changed it. Then I
clicked print. The attachment was not listed on the printed page. I
followed the same steps but this time in plain text and again the attachment
did not show up. The only way the attachment would appear is if I would send
the e-mail (any format), then go into my SENT ITEMS folder, click on the
e-mail and forward it to myself in "plain text". This way at least I would
get the icon with the name of the document underneath the icon. I still have
not figured out how to "only" get the title of the attachments and not the
icon. Any other suggestions? :) By the way, I am using Outlook 2003, if
that helps.

I'm having the same problem. When I print out the attachments listed as a
list not as icons. I am also using Outlook 2003

I'm sorry I should have read it before I posted. I want to print out the
attachments listed with just the attachment files not the icon.

Somehow I figured it out but I did so many things that now I have to back
track to see what exactly it was that fixed it. As soon as I have an answer
I'll let you know. I kept telling myself that there's got to be a way to
change the e-mail field format and sure enough there is. You have to create
a new form by going to tools/forms/Design a Form. But this is the tricky
part because you don't want to publish new forms over the already saved
default forms. All you want to to is create a new form. If you figure it
out before me please let me know. Thanks!

Ok. I figured it out! Forget about creating a new form. All you have to do
is go to HELP in your outlook, Select (Check for Updates) and simply update
your Outlook. You'll have to restart your computer when it's done. This
should work. It has worked for all of my co-workers so far. :)

I am having the same problem: when I print an email, the To, From, CC, Sent,
and attachment information doesn't print out. I've tried forwarding and
printing, but the attachments list still doesn't print out. Any suggestions?
I'm in 2003. Does Microsoft have a fix for this by now?
